Wow I am going to have to eat twice as much tomorrow (now today) to make up for today (now yesterday)! I'm afraid today's food entry looks like that of a starving model. GI status a bit slippery so I really didn't feel like eating as I knew that would lead to not being able to be out and about for work meetings (came back home at 1:30am after a fantastic, inspirational, jam packed workday).

*So for 15 years, we've been getting take-out from a local Afghan favorite restaurant. The chicken kabob plate (6 kabobs, rice, bread, salad) is kind of $$ at $20 but totally worth it if you tasted the stuff. Then when I started SCD some 4 years ago and asked if I could just get the kabobs due to food allergies to the other stuff, they said no they don't do that. I called yesterday during off-peak hours and again explained that I just throw out (not really, I make my dad eat it because I can't stand to see food go to waste) the rice, salad (raw veggies - too advanced), bread whenever I get it due to 'allergies', they said no problem, we can give you just the kabobs for just $8.50. Who knows, maybe they've gotten more requests like this in recent years? Maybe they realized that if they actually cater to the sub-population who have dietary restrictions, they'll definitely increase business and profits. All I know is that now I can afford to order it more often, and it helped to call when they were not busy. When speaking to restaurants and chefs etc. to see if they can accommodate your dietary restrictions, try to talk to them in off-peak hours. They'll have more time to listen and work with you!

S - green tea w/ honey (from the local pearl milk tea place, Fantasia. They make tea from real loose leaves as opposed to from green tea powder which contains SCD-illegals. Order honey green tea with no milk and no pearls.)
