1 large onion
4 tbsp chopped ginger
10 cups soaked split peas
2 medium sized onions grated
2 piece of ginger julienned
6 cloves of garlic minced
2 large tomatoes chopped, or 2 cups of Campbell's tomato juice
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1. Soak split peas in water for 12 hours. Drain, rinse and soak for another 12 hours. Drain, rinse and set aside.
2. Blend the split peas.
3. Mix with remaining ingredients.
4. Form into small dough balls and flatten.
5. Heat oil on medium heat.
6. Fry until golden brown. Place on a plate covered with a paper towel so soak up oil.
