Day 5 - 7. B-A-N-A-N-A-S

5. I just read that Casey Abrams, a current American Idol contestant and favorite, missed a show because he was in the hospital due to UC. He is now back in the game - what a trooper and an inspiration!!  I was already a fan of his soulful vocals, but I'll be rooting for him even more now and I really hope he goes far. I also like how he sang "I Don't Need No Doctor" for his audition!

B - scrambled eggs, banana
L - turkey patty, chicken soup
S - grape jello
D - chicken soup, chicken, grape jello

It's been five days on the intro diet and now I'm moving on up to Stage 1.  My flare had already subsided quite a bit by the time I started the intro diet, but I can tell you that after a couple days on the intro, I really felt better.  Even if you are not feeling better on the intro diet, it is advised to move past the intro after no more than 5 days or you will have very low energy. I added in bananas today - I love bananas and I generally always keep them around because they are a quick and easy snack. When I was previously on SCD, I was channeling my inner monkey and eating 3 or 4 a day at one point! On SCD, only ripe bananas with brown spots should be consumed because much of the starch has been converted to sugar.
