Day 13. Back to Life, Back to Reality!

I went off the grid for 6-8 weeks after I got this flare in Jan. No phones, very little computer use. It wasn't difficult for me - I've always been intrigued by hermit lifestyles, living off the land, counter-consumerism, etc. I experimented with this phenomenon in my own way a year and a half ago when I took a vow to not shop for non-essentials like clothes (not soap). I made it through a full year with 10 extra minutes every day and more money in the bank to pay off my student loan.

But let me tell you, the first thing I did this time around when I 'got out' was get myself to the MALL! Pronto! Now that I'm up and running, I find that there are a lottt of things that I left neglected and have to catch up on. Friends, work, my phone needs a new SIM to work, my computer screen is hanging by a wire (literally), and my beloved, yet completely janked, car needs a jump start...and its window repaired/alarm repaired/radio repaired... if only I could let the repairs pile up until it's cheaper to get a new car (Toyota Prius baby! Not such a looker on the outside but it's the inner beauty that counts). In other words, it feels really good to have a life again! For now, cooking still takes priority out of all these!
